Kengen started the year @13.20..fell all the way to 11.90 then started up thanx to 1st half financial results..all the way to a high of 19.00 or there about...

performing full year worse than previous implies marginal intrinsic value growth..plus a hefty debt service cost (bond interest)

..likely to breach the purported 15.00 barrier to lower levels.. 12-14.

just me.. high on milk shake at savanah smile

According to business daily,-Kengen revenue droped from ksh.11.5bn to ksh.9.8bn. This drop is ofcos attributed to drought. N if this drop was nt good enough,please fasten your seatbelt as the weather man has somethin else to add to this cookin pot- La nina is set to hit the country next year. Be the judge. I rest my case your honour.

I have just bought a small chunk at 15.70 and 15.65. I have other bids below these prices and will increase my quantity as it falls. I bet it will not fall below 15.

This is purely for speculation and I have a time frame not exceeding end of January 2011.

I will exit if I can net 10%.

Today, this counter closed @16.50 with outstanding demand of about 40,000 shares. Unfortunately, I only managed to get about 8,000 shares yesterday before the short term window of opportunity closed.

I will not hold them for long given the meagre quantity. If they clear while the price is still up, I will just take my money.

I have worked it out that I need a selling price of 17.80 to net my 10%. In view of the quantity involved, if I get 17 (where I make 5%) I will sell. I do not feel it worthwhile to expend too much energy watching a counter's movt when I do not have a sizeable quantity.

@Mwanahisa,

How do you work out your 10% from 17.8? does that factor the 2% for buying and selling....... mmhh i thought so.

One would be forgiven for thinking kengen just posted excellent results. Share trading at around the same level before release of results. Contrast that with when E.A. Cables released their results

These are long term buyers... Once Kengen is finished paying their bond and comleted their projects there will be no limits to the growth this counter will realize

@Eddy, My calculations above included commisions though not at the standard rate, as I get discounted rates.

And I have today managed to sell off the lot at Kshs 18. My 10% and a little more is in. Not bad for holding for 2 weeks. Shows that you do make money sometimes by going against the crowd. Now, if only I had more faith - I could have bought more at 16!

@Aguytrying. Forgive my choice of words. I did not mean it to come across as such. I am sure you will be able to progress from where you are. My very best wishes in that regard.

@Jerry, I actually use a number of brokerage houses, but I do not wish to name them in a public forum.
