Radio? I listen to Hope FM at night before going to sleep and in the morning when dressing for work. Still haven't fitted a "band-expander" in the car so I tune to Waumini when not listening to my tapes.... when i grow up.. i wanna be you. ..Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven...Matt5:16 - 1769 Oxford King James Bible 'Authorized Version

KenyanLyrics wrote:@mukiha, classical music is what? Cultured? ALL music is cultured! It is an important part of human culture. I enjoy listening to classical, and generally all music that is rich in instrumentation. I find that many people don't enjoy classical because they haven't listened to it live or through a good Hi-Fi. It has nothing to do with sophistication. Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

Capital FM revolutionised radio in very unprecedented ways and i'm forever hooked...i have very sentimental memories of CapitalFM of up to 2005 and wish all those pioneer presenters could come back. But sadly Capital is gradually loosing its identity, over the years. All said i'm still a loyalist. How i wish that loosing trend could be brought to a halt!!! If this goes one we shall just forget how good she was. Age must be catching up!

Chaps like Bethoven, Brams, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Mozart et al. didn't have the luxury of synthesizers and cake walk. Yet they composed masterful pieces that are favs to this day. Imagine organising 450 instruments in your head and transfering the same to the pentatonic scale on paper....that's really something. Try comparing these maestros to modern-day komongo's with a half-baked education (8-4-4), the vocabulary of a sailor and creatively bankrupt producers and whaddoyouget? The crap we have to listen to on radio like every day. So nice that its nasty, so bangin' its busting, So slick that its sick, so dope its disgusting!

selah wrote:Whats wrong with KTN now Larry Madowo is moving to NTV business the other day they lost Allan Namu .Is it the pay or work environment. @Selah Are you an airport or boeing? Just curious. If you want to know the dark side of Media Houses, read the current Expression Today Magazine. It goes for two hundred bob and worth every penny. Its produced every other month and quite an eye opener. You should be able to find it in Nairobi news stands. You will know why Obonyo was almost crucified for writing a story of how Safaricom IPO was a mess and people lost money big time. The story was actually rifted from an official report but Safaricom, Zain, etc usually through PR outfits decide what goes into our local media, they even prepare articles, newsreel and pictures to appear in the media and thus denying the journalists a neutral reporting status. There are even Journalist and Editors from our leading media houses who are on a regular pay roll of conglomerate companies such as banks, EABL, etc so that they always get favorable coverage in the media. If a media house fails to observe their interest, the conglomerates threaten to withdraw their adverts. That's a shame, and the way I had respected Michael Joseph! Go overdrive in purchasing the goods when there's blood on the streets, expecially if the blood is your own

Also an interesting article on which female presenters rule their airwaves: Waithera Muithirania, Inooro Lucy Ngunjiri, Kameme Parveen Adams, East FM Caroline Mutoko, Kiss FM http://www.frankierants.com/ken...top-female-broadcasters/
