If this is the kind of results they could manage with the sugar selling prices at an all time high, and with COMESA safeguard measures expiring in 2012, then the future doesn't look good, does it?

I will say that since both revenues & PBT are up, then the results are not necessarily bad. Tax effect while important shouldn't be considered in isolation. I would have wanted them to finish the Tarda project by 2012. Let's see how the market will price the stock on Monday. Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

@you'stop,the market will decide that, but looking at those results and with the challanges ahead from production and competition its a sell at current prices.

Ai qw. Hata kama ni shorthand. Sometimes we can't follow. I doubt writing full words will 'waste' that much time. Hauongei na dame yako facebook On mumias, price will fall. It will be a miracle if it doesn't. But whether people will get to pick some up below ten, that is another question GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

@the deal - Nonsense... Mumias gets paid much better than KenGen for electricity... Higher input costs for supply of electricity will filter down to the consumers... The main business is SUGAR... & until Kenya reforms the Sugar Act... there is little long-term hope! Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

Looking at Mumias results, two things stand out: 1)Of its Ksh18bn revenue, only Ksh359m is from cogeneration. Some quacks in the old Sk were saying cogeneration sijui would increase revenue by Ksh1bn per year of sijui even Ksh10bn. Dream on. Mumias is an agricultural stock whose fortunes are linked to the weather. It must get the TARDA project going for any meaningful growth. 2)The Ksh4bn increase in revenue from last mainly came from sugar price increases. Sugar harvesting only increased by a paltry 7%. TARDA is key to Mumias' future. The Governor of Nyeri - 2017

first kenya re then safaricom now mumias. WTF!!!!! @qw... lets face facts... with a dividend yield of 2.9% and a P/E of 13.2 then the market has to offer some sort of punishment because money flows into counters that offer value. and another thing is that mumias will have flat performance next year due to stable sugar prices so why would i as an investor buy. as an investor with experience i know exactly when to cut my losses and run when it is necessary(like i did with safcom @5.4 and kenya re @13.3) good thing i always sell at a profit becuase i got into mumias at 10bob... @njunge i've officially crowned you SUGAR MASTER!!! BYE BYE mumias..... Mark 12:29 Deuteronomy 4:16

Got it wrong on this one, got it wrong on KQ, will I bite the dust also with Sasini? Bought all three on the run up to announcement (KQ 54.50, Mumias 12.85, Sasini 13.50) , all seem to have been bad calls--unless Sasini delivers.

There's NOTHING wrong w/ Msc . And i shout from the top of my voice there'll be no sell-off come Monday. I see the price holding, coz it'll be foolish 2 say there'll b a rally. That's the situation come Monday. @gg . U are definately wrong on sasini but right on KQ and MSC . Your future depends on your dreams so go to sleep !

@GG talking technicals sasini is forming a descending triangle. It will soon break out - downwards. On fundamentals side you know their profits are usually from biological gains. UZA.
