Kenya has become a human-trafficking hub.
89 Ethiopians were found in a dagoretti home yesterday - destination? S.A.
Those ones are lucky, many others end up in slavery/ forced prostitution

i just love the TZs justice system...arrests made on 17th August 2010...prosecution done on 18th August 2010...two days and justice was done..or is it because he was Nairobian whom these fellows hate?

if it was in Kenya this would have been the scenario....

crime committed on 17th August 2010...a stage managed hide and seek game between the police and the criminal would ensue and the arrest made on 28th December 2010 after a public outcry...

the suspect would then be horded in Kamiti remand cells for about a month, for the charge sheets have not been prepared because of lack of resources to facilitate this...

eventually the suspect is arraigned in court on 5th February 2011, but it emerges that the presiding judge is not available on that day and as such the court is adjourned to 4th April 2011. the suspect is taken back to kamiti...

on 4th April 2011 the suspect is taken to court, but the court prosecution requests the court to adjourn again because the full and comprehensive investigations have not been completed yet and that one of the witnesses did not appear. so the court is adjourned until 10th June 2011. the suspect is taken back to Kamiti...

on 10th June 2011 the suspect is back in court and this time it emerges that presiding judge is on leave for about two months. the court is again adjourned to 17th August 2011. the suspect is taken back to Kamiti...

on 17th August 2011 the suspect is arraigned in court and the charges are read to him. he pleads guilty and is sentensed to one month in prison...

Chances are, he would have been released on bond for lack of enough evidence..... Depending on the stature of the 'criminal' the attorney general would have dropped state charges or recalled the file for 'further investigation'... and..... end of the story!

@ wendz

to the ever smily fellow, there is only one species of files that exist...the big fish files.

to the small omena...file imepotea...kila wakati.

note in this case the suspect is a hawker and would most likely have no money for the bail...meaning, spending two years or one in remand prison before the case is heard...Pray Pray Pray Pray Pray
...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...
