ARM's shares will see a dip as competition heats up... See Bamburi's results for 1H 2010...

Also the new players in Kenya are pricing the cement at much lower prices vs EAPCC, Bamburi & ARM... There are other players in Tanzania as well...

@vvs the demand for cement is also huge and the local producers do not have the capacity to satisfy.

Another way of analyzing companies is seeing How their counterparts in the industry are performing..
I don't expect ARM to pull a growth in profits after seeing bamburi's

Laughing out loudly the loss by bamburi must be a signal that the
market is getting saturated with cheap cement imports, next casualty could be arm who knows?

I agree with your observations. This might be a little tricky with ARM in view of their huge debts.

unless their chemicals and fertzrs performed well and they were able to capture more market share in cement, results will not be so good.

We might be surprised with an over 20% growth in profits.

I don't think its cement imports but the 'slowdown' experienced in 1H due to the referendum...

As for ARM, I am sure the profits will be good BUT not as high as expected due to competition from Mombasa Cement (Nyumba)...
