Mumias is a volatile share. every now and then you hear sugarcane farms getting burnt. this makes it very risky to invest in it

I have seen a full page ad in the Nation by Kwale International Sugar Co.Ltd seeking for personnel.
In the intro it says it will plant sugar in their 15,000 acre estate in Kwale/Ramisi.Does anyone know who is behind this project and the effect it will have on Mumias?

In a laymans view, if COMESA sugar producers are way more interested in exporting to Asia and Europe, Kwale sugar is little in the way of MSC where it has barely met the local demand going foward let alone satisfactorily engage in meeting international demand. MSC still has quite some mileage left...

The current situation favors Mumias... but if Europe pays less in the future then the COMESA sugar will look at Kenya again...

@mwala, if all of us could make stock price predictions as easily as you do, we would all be riiiiiich!

Mumias tasted/tested below 10 today. There is fatigue in the market. I can sense it.

People are tired of investing (or rather lack of cash)...

Great results from KPLC did not even move the price... It was 150/- before the announcement & slightly higher 155/- afterwards...

@mwala. The increase in price may be attributed to investors wanting to cash in on the interim dividend{book closure in March} and also share split

There is a suit before the courts by the outgrowers against Mumias regarding remittance of Development funds. Figures being talked about are huge. Looks like the company has been operating on free capital.

And as of today Coop has won the argument over Mumias...and maybe the 'win' will only last until mumias releases its results!

there are no winners and losers on the NSE because every stock has its day... I'm pretty sure a mumias rally should be in order soon...

i expect it to hit 16bob by end August

Am I overly optimistic? With the anticipated good results and good dividend I see 18 silings towards results and 20 silings towards book closure for dividends.Drool Drool Drool
