The roofs might be rusty but what is hidden under the mattresses and part of it in EB is what matters!

Fortunes changed here..... It was a grim picture of how life was during the Grand Coalition Govt. Insecurity was much worse, but we forget so fast. Other than the "guru" threat, I wouldnt want to re-live the last government! TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

My two cents....... This is a problem of all towns inhabited by one community. There are some social dynamic undercurrents that inhibit growt.Inter mbari tensions, wivu, uchawi, in-laws etc. Also the people to bring growth ideawise and moneywise have all migrated to the city. A town begins to grow once it becomes cosmopolitan. Compare Athi River and Kitengela as an example.Athi River is much older than Kitengela yet Kitengela has shown great strides in growth. Other toens with the same syndrome;-Limuru, Nyeri, Nyahururu, Kimende (not sure its a town), Karatina, Kerugoya. My knowledge of towns in other regions is limited but I suspect they suffer the same. Love is beautiful and so are those who share it.With Love, Marriage is an amazing event in ones life time, the foundation of joy, happiness and success.

My knowledge of towns in other regions is limited but I suspect they suffer the same. One other problem I've noticed is the issue of land ownership. The old wazees have a somewhat sentimental attachment to land even when not economically exploiting it. However, as they die off and the next generation inherits, they tend to dispose off some of the land (sell) and inevitably, some of the buyers will be investors putting up houses, hotels, schools, etc. Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

On the contrary, Naivasha is literally blossoming despite all the evils associated with it! Looks like it will overtake Murang’a soon if not done so already. I think it was ‘helped’ a lot by the PEV coz it appears guys running from hostile western zones settled there seriously

That is exactly what am saying.Fresh ideas from without Naivasha. In that town you have Mzungu, Muhindi, Okuyo, Kisii, Luo, Luhya, Kales etc. That mchanganyiko is what brings development and growth. Nyahururu ni kurogwo' but its growing slowly towards Nakuru and Gilgil. While i was growing tall around there, KR train used to ride there. I don't what goods they used to deliver or collect.
