My top 5 are as follows;
1. BOC - sleeping giant. Focus on CO2 after deal with Carbacid failed. Well managed company.unfortnately been out of focus after suspension.
2. EABL.true blue chip. A company that can have global outreach.
3. KPLC. Undervalued. Potential for growth enourmous.
4. Equity.Regional expansion about to start paying off.
5. ARM.diversification of products and expansion. Visionary management.
There r some other good companies for speculation. Others for real long.

Happy investing

Pkoli,

I also think BOC is a good venture. I'm thinking of buying now,or do you think i should hold on and wait and see how the market behaves after carbacid bonus shares starts trading?

E.A.B.L is undebatebly a great buy.

@wondergirl
I think this is right time to accumulate. Very few shares floating given that The Linde Group owns about 65% of the Co.after deal with Carbacid went under,the Co. Will want to execute its strategy without carbacid; and they have the mussle to achieve that. I think carbacid is being hyped too much.

So. Give it a trial. I have been accumulating slowly when all market attention was on carbacid.

Happy investing

Been picking up NIC at sub 30.... Its quite undervalued compared to its peers....could there be a substantial reason?

..... Does any one have answers as to why this counter is trading at a PE of 8?

@ sheep. Good idea picking up NIC.

Like it's peers Diamond and CFC it appears undervalued on a PBV basis-PBV is at 1.5x against NSE banks (1.9x). I think the reason for being discounted is the conservative div policy-that's why it's PE is 8.1x against NSE banks (11.2x).

But looking at techical indicators I think that taking a long position is viable esp if volumes pick up and prices pushes out of the channel (@ Kshs29.50). Talk to dem technical analysts at places like Dyer or CFC-they'll tell you the RSI and stochastic indicators are encouraging 4 buyers. Plus been hearing many people talk about NIC lately (maybe because of 3rd qtr results),but,the interest isn't raising volumes. I wonder why.

The process by which banks create money is so simple that the mind is repelled.

MSC is a steal at the current prices. PE = 6!

Consider since May 11th they've been supplying 26MW to the grid which will be around 300million more on profits. (The profits from this were not included in the last earnings report.

Soon they will be launching their bottled water and fortified sugar.

Then going to TARDA where the sugarcane will be growing in about 6 months compared to the current 12 months.

Probably acquiring one of the existing sugar factories in western Kenya.

Add in ethanol production that should add in about 1.5billion to their revenue.

Add in the carbon credits of about 95million a year.

Watch this baby.

@ufanisi,

Is fortified sugar the same thing as industrial sugar i.e the one used to make soft drinks?

Please look at the top of the page,you will see 'Historical'. Click on this and it should take you to a screen with the historical data. You'll need to select the dates you want. I think you have to do 2 years at a go...

NIC reports a 8% increase in profit.....well it seems to have already been factored in long before...insiders????
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.
