“Kenya is one of the biggest stand alone businesses contributing 71% of the overall EABL portfolio. Uganda (16%) , Tanzania (13%)” ~ CEO, Andrew Cowan

Is the kenyan business the only one not bleeding cash?
Please show us which business/country is bleeding cash.

I have been told that Serengeti started making money in 2018 and UG reported a profit for the first time. They used to lose money. Unfortunately source ni phone call hence not sharable.
So which one is bleeding cash?

East African Breweries Limited (EABL) group finance director and head of strategy Gyorgy Geiszl is set to leave the brewer in June after the parent company, Diageo, recalled him for senior role. His exit will bring to an end five-year stay at EABL, having joined in October 2015.

Mr Geiszl will be replaced by Risper Genga Ohaga, a Kenyan, who has been the chief finance officer at Barclays Bank Zambia Plc.

EABL doing well even before kisumu plant has started production.Bearing in mind that kisumu is targeting the low income earners, their future looks bright.

Increased production doesn't necessarily translate to an improved bottomline Re: Athi River Mining with new clinker and milling plants; Uchumi with new branches.

The problem with Senator Keg is that its low margin as compared to the mainstream beers. But its good to grab market share from illicit brews

The other problem is that if Baba tells Kavirondians not to drink Senator or to burn their sorghum, the Kisumu investment is finished

There's nothing wrong in low margins and high volumes. Walmart beat other retailers with this approach.
*Disclosure: I think EABL is relatively expensive compared to some other shares on PER, PEG Ratio and ROI basis.
