They are equally good and pocket friendly. Was there for a working trip & lodged at Sunsail. Their food is great. Never had better chicken than Sunsail's. End of good part. This hotel is poorly maintained. Looks very dirty with filthy washrooms. Their white bedsheets and towels are stained & yellowy. Then the flies. Armies of flies. Especially in the morning when fishermen bring their night's haul & sell just infront of the hotel. Kitu 8-9am nzi ni wengi wanakaa mkeka hapo kwa restaurant! Kingfisher also needs proof that he's married to his woman to stay there But Petleys is good & great bargain Will go there for chicken soup.......... When I have money, I get rid of it quickly, lest it find a way into my heart.

Try beyt salam a tiny botique hotel https://travel.jumia.com.../o3168/beyt-salaam-lamu
you get a personal chef and dine at the roof top, been there twice and it beats the other large hotels only 4 room are there but the food and the dining experience was unforgettable To Each His Own
