Nice uniform. The police now stand out and are more visible. Makes it more reassuring to members of the public.

To add to that, they look poorly trained and unprofessional.

Why ooh why, I have always found our police uniforms much better that those of other African countries, esp. the beige and black uniforms, even the white shirts for ladies. Now this chinese uniform nayo, I hope the Chinese have not patented that color as we may soon get another 100Bn loan to buy royalties for use of the colour.

The other police reforms implemented are very good and welcome in my opinion, I have never understood the need for parallel commands for APS and police, plus intergrating police into community should improve security, I am however worried for landlords, when a cop refuses to pay rent, where do you go

Other than being ugly,this uniform is quite unnecessary given the country's financial situation;

Let's face it.

62000 police officers each to get 2 pairs of new uniform. Last known price of police uniform is Kshs 7000 and this is without boots, belts, socks and berets. Factor in 100% of that as extra for overpricing, kickbacks and money to be stolen. You can bet over 3B will be spent here even though our police officers are not going to work naked. Did someone say the gaament is broke?

They get new uniform ever year right? This time they get uniform in another colour. Guys are suffering from a custom hangover, this is no fashion event

Kenya is so much into gimmicks!! the color of uniforms mean nothing! some of the most effective persons in their field in Kenya have very badly looking uniforms

but to be fair... that uniform looks like Nyakemicha's uniform

Most importantly, you have recognized the ugliness. It is indeed an issue. They are new. Just imagine how they will look like after a few omo with powerform washes.

I might one of the few who think the legacy uniform is smart and unique, and could withstand harsh weather, many washes and dirty 50 bob notes.

The ladies attire is esp smart and very neat. Damn!Sad Sad

These uniforms were well thought out and I have never come across widespread disapproval. Why would anybody support something that is clearly very ugly, unnecessary and costly?

Most Police uniforms around the world have a touch of Navy Blue, skyblue or whatever slayqueens call it and/or white.

And what's with the arm badge with police colours? Makes them look like they are from another country. It should bear Kenyan flag colours or sth close. They now look like German Police.

Uniform design is a very elaborate process, sometimes even involves public, esp the youth participation etc. What I'm seeing here is some unimaginative lazy fellow, who has no eye for nice things. I only see such ugly uniforms in Nigerian movies and Papa Shirandula.

The only think I see here is that someone needed to make money "legally" so they decided police uniform was the way to do it. Why move from that neat uniform posted above so this crap? Just look at the fit and workmanship ... it is so poor. If it is NYS (I heard somewhere that they make their own uniforms these days) who are making these uniforms then they need to do a better job.

Since they have scrapped of most of AP positions the new uniform could have reduced the cost. Look at it this way

The shirt, jacket, trouser are all made from one material.

The other uniform had khaki, white shirt/blue skirt/trouser, jungle green trouser/lightish dirt green shirt, then the camo. If this blue uniform is it....that is an amazing cost cutting measure. Kenyans should be clapping and applauding this move

The uniforms are all made locally in .ke. FYI the police men and women are given a new uniform each year. So what is the hullabaloo when the fabric is of a different colour this year? The additional cost is zero. For those who have been making/sewing the uniforms, they only noticed that the kitambaa colour is slightly different but the unit cost remains the same whether kitambaa is blue, white, black or khaki.

New paint work on a cracked building doesn't address the real issue

COOP 255,000 ABP 15.85; IMH 5,000 ABP 35.55; KQ 604,200 ABP 6.96; MTN 23,800 ABP 5.20
