Thievery is ingrained in Kenyans DNA. Jomo Kenyatta started it. His inner circle reveled in it, looting public coffers with wild abandon. And every president since Kenyatta has done the same. So when Kenyans see their leaders engaging in thievery, they have no compunction about also engaging in thievery. Even the carjackers and muggers justify their deeds by pointing at our leaders.

Its so bad that people who hold high government positions and don't engage in thievery are considered idiots because they did not enrich themselves. We have a rotten culture.

@Lolest

If not Jomo Kenyatta then how did our rotten culture of corruption start?

Kenyatta actively encouraged corruption by purging the cabinet and parliament of politicians who crusaded against corruption.

Bildad Kaggia was one of those purged. And after he lost his office, he joined the opposition (KPU) upon which he was arrested and harassed so many times that he quit active politics in the early 1970s.

It was Jomo who encouraged corruption and had those who opposed corruption arrested, detained or assassinated.

If Kenyatta boosted anti-corruption and non-tribalistic leaders like Kaggia, Kenya would be a much better place.

Instead the most powerful politicians of the Kenyatta era were the likes of Mbiyu Koinange whose family is now tussling over his Ksh 30 Billion estate.

Jomo encouraged tribalism by pitting Kikuyus against Luos so he and his inner circle could focus on looting public resources while the peasants fought each other.

The curse of Kenya is that Kenyatta promoted tribal and corrupt leaders like Moi, Kibaki, Koinange and so forth. And he got rid of anti corruption crusaders like Oginga, Kaggia, JM, Pinto ...............

Had Kenyatta instead promoted the Likes of Kaggia, Kenyans would now be voting based on issues. All these tribal fights we have around election time would not happen. Instead of looking up to tribal kingpins, we would be looking up to politicians like Kaggia who are focused on development not thievery.

Our lineup of presidents would have been : Oginga, JM Kariuki, Muliro, Kaggia. All anti corruption crusaders. Instead we ended up with Moi, Kibaki, Uhuru. All beneficiaries of corruption who having benefited from corruption, are not interested in fighting the vice.

Thats why I say Jomo is the root cause.

@Hamburglar.

Why are you giving kenyans sleepless nights

Why do you need a tv and radio station?
Can't you use the existing media outlets or are they too 'religious'for you.

The firing seems to be as a result of his political activism and not being an atheist.

Before you swallow a mango seed whole - make sure you have measured the diameter of your anus. Being a vocal anti-theist in this society is asking for trouble.
