Three men were due to be charged with poisoning the lions, according to the Kenya Wildlife Service, and could face a maximum 20 million shilling ($196,000) fine or life imprisonment if found guilty.
"May they rot in jail," Kahumbu said.
Just killing lions
Kill a lion... life imprisonment.
Steal 791m... lighter duties.
That's life meeen
It does not make sense, hata man slaughter has less stricter charges.
For those who have to co-exist with the wild animals 20m to most is a figure they can not come up with and yet when the wild animals destroys their crops or kill their domestic animals they do not get the 20m in compensation.
if a lion kills a human what is the compensation?
depends on the nature of the incident - but I hear the incidence has to be reported with 2 days to kws, and one has to show that they had put in place measures to protect themselves or property as per some set up rules in the respective areas.
But I think compensation for death can be anything less than 5m, injuries go for less than 2m - all depends on how the case is presented to the committee that handles that.
I think one can also sue the government or kws if they feel the damage is greater.
