Numbers 14
2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said to them,Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

26 And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron,saying,27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation,which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel,which they murmur against me. 28 Say to them,As truly as I live,said the LORD,as you have spoken in my ears,so will I do to you: 29 Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you,according to your whole number,from twenty years old and upward which have murmured against me. 30 Doubtless you shall not come into the land,concerning which I swore to make you dwell therein

Never ceases to amaze me just how myopic and small minded some people can get.

We are constantly reminded by both political divides that there are two centres of power and that the loaf was shared 50/50...does it become the responsibility of one party only when there are shortcomings to be pointed out.....soooo unimaginative to bash one community everytime wrongs of this damned god-forsaken country are pointed out.

I hope the one who didn't 'steal' power is sharing it with the myopic contributors on this forum.

A country bent on self destruction cannot be saved.
So if the people and their politicians keep destroying the water then we will find out who will suffer.
However we still have a lot of water going to waste every year - remember Budalangi,etc every year a lot of water in Kenya isn't used up. Also the water going to the Indian Ocean every year is too much. I remember KJ's Shariff Nassir act 'Kama maji ya Indian Ocean ingalikuwa supu,ugali ambao ungetumia kula hiyo supu ungetoshanaaje? haha

So if we can manage what we have and stop breeding too fast we still have a future. Or we can start planting palmtrees and dates in preparation for desertification and we start embracing camels and camel milk in Kenya. Most likely the Arabs will follow the desert to here and extend the Darfur conflict to Kenya as their brothers in the coast help them to surround the kaffirs and re-instate the slave trade - all this because of desertification

@All

If you would like to make a difference in the environment,Kindly join members of the SK Charity Club on Saturday,13th June 09 for a tree planting session at the Ruiru Rehabilitation Centre. The home has about 10acres of land and havent planted any trees yet,so we have taken up the initiative to plant at least a tree or more each to make a difference in our environment instead of constantly complaining about it yet we sit back and do nothing to help the situation before it gets out of hand.

If interested to join us,Kindly contact @vision2030 on mpolekabisa@gmail.com or @Leona on reggyzoe@yahoo.com

If you wont be able to avail yourself personally,then please liase with @Vision2030 and donate a tree and we shall plant it for you.

Thank you in advance

@Leona and Vision2030

Good People!! Bravo for this initiative and for giving us (the bickering lot) a chance to make a difference..... I am hoping that @Funda and everyone who has responded to this post will be contributing to a positive change.

Count me in on this... I am in and i want to come and plant my trees but if i dont make to join the group,i will definitely drop some trees with you!

To add on leona's post.

A tree seedling is going for 50/= each so if you can't get a live tree you can make a pledge in monetary terms and we could make a difference.

Let as many as possible attend/ participate so we can teach the children how to preserve the environment for future generations.

Make a difference by adopting a tree

@Wendz
welcome back! Lol,Yeah,we ought to stop bickering(sp) and for once do something positive about our problems for the future of this earth

I was actually very embarassed when some dude asked me how many trees i have planted in the more than 2 decades i have been in this world...am still deeply embarassed to even write down the answer here particulary so coz i always whine about the lack of water...lack of food...slow death of lakes/rivers..etc. Shame on me! But i have decided to make a positive difference from now henceforth..and am starting on the 13th:)

Dear All

The tree planting initiative is still very much on this Saturday(13th June).. So if interested to join us,please come and lets make a difference in our environment. It's our time to make the change we've always wanted to see in the world!

You do not have to join the charity club to do this,and we do not have to know who you post on SK as. Our interest is to mobilize as many as possible....and make a change in the world!

The home is on Thika Road,a few metres past Clayworks...You can ask around at the delta petrol station. It's called the Ruiru Rehabilitation Centre.

Please SKerians,lets not sit back and complain about our leaders,while we arent making any significant change whenever we can ourselves.Lets plant trees and save the world from turning into a desert! In Nairobi,we're already being hit hard by water rationing...and the worst is yet to come! Lets at least say we tried..the best we could
