While you are celebrating NBK's UNAUDITED 2Q profits, dig deeper. Loan Loss Provisions are down 1.3bn QoQ. Think about that. Did they make a miraculous recovery from one of their debtors for 1.3bn in 3 months? The Net NPLs have gone up. What are NPLs? When does a bank have to provide for NPLs? How do NPLs reduce? Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

What were the circumstances at the time they recommended Uchumi and NBK? I was a fan of Uchumi at one point [while Suresh Shah was MD] but I bailed out at a good profit after he left. I did own NBK at one point (IPO purchase) but I never was a fan. Sleep? = As well as @Obiero after he tells folks to buy KQ Of all my shares the only one that keeps me a little awake is ARM [but it's not a core holding] the rest are Sleeping Beauties Greedy when others are fearful.
