Not sure what you mean, but healing can, and does occur for rape survivors. Seeing/knowing the person(s) who raped is walking free and probably raping others slows that healing for the victim(s).

A person who has been raped can never receive justice!

The damage is permanent

The sentencing is justice for society but not for the rape victim,s/he will heal but the scar will remain. There is no amount of counselling that will take that away.Does the rape victim feel good/better after the sentencing?

In my view there is no justice which can be achieved in murder and rape cases. The damage is permanent.

But I'm not saying that the culprits should be let loose, they should be punished as a deterrent to others and avoid repeat.

I tend to concur

The police officers who mishandled this case initially deserve some disciplinary action; in fact, they do not deserve to be in the service of this nation. To imagine that they decide to be judge and jury on this case and then mete outa headmaster's punishment is just mind boggling.

Prayers for Liz

I tend to agree that there is no justice at all for murder and rape cases. Once it's it can't be undone.

But it is a deterrent.

Suppose the offenders are hung by their balls and made to undergo some of the most outrageous torture, can that bring some more healing to the victim?
