At current speeds and limits on nationwide HSPA coverage, Airtel is unlikely to shake Safaricom's dominance in data, sadly. Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

Data aside, 400 mins talk time for a thousand shillings is a bargain. That's 2.5bob per min across all networks!

Quote:For Sh50, subscribers will now get 100MB, 20 minutes of airtime and 100 SMS per day.
Another daily bundle for Sh100 entitles one to 300MB, 60 minutes, and 500 SMS.
A seven-day package is priced at Sh250 and allows up to 500MB, 100 minutes, and 500 SMS. A premium package for a similar period offers 1. GB, 300 minutes, and 2,500 SMS.
For Sh1,000, customers can use 2GB, 400 minutes, and 2,000 SMS within a month.
Another monthly bundle offers 6GB, 1,200 minutes, and 10,000 SMS for Sh2,000. Subscribers will get unlimited access to Whatsapp, Facebook, Gmail, Twitter and Instagram in all the bundles.

I seemingly get on well with the monthly orange unlimited 3g - pegged at 20gb (fair usage policy), although I would not consider myself a serious internet user.

What about yahoo? 6.When you exhaust your voice minutes, what is the call rate? 7.HOW DOES ONE SUBSCRIBE??? 8. Are the minutes usable across all networks or is it airtel to airtel only “Invest in yourself. Your career is the engine of your wealth.”

Across all networks. For me that's the cue to take advantage. 400 mins @ 1000 is 2.5bob per min Add 2000 text messages and this makes sense even if the 2GB data is takataka

This is Airtel positioning itself from the expected discontinuation of Safaricom's Karibu Postpay bundles 1000 and 2500 by end of March. Safaricom is expected to revise the rates upwards, and what better deal than moving to Airtel bundle 1000 for a better package.

Should be May, I will retain my Safaricom line for MPESA and move on to Airtel.

The only comeback for safcom will be to retain the 1K postpaid bundle as it is.
