The take home salary (allowances inclusive) is 50,000 USD (tax free) for a 36 month contract. He is allowed to take his family (cost covered for up to 2 kids). I am wondering what wazuans think from your experience of such an offer. Would you take it? Which field? Kama ni yaya then run as fast as yu can! AWAY! Healthcare, i dont think ayas make upwards of 4000 USD per month Please tell your friend to leave his family here , some places you cannot subject your family to. I disagree with @Speculz. I advice @kite to take the family with him, who are you leaving your family with? The exposure the family will get is priceless. The wife will just rest and do window shopping as she explores some business potentials. Why would someone leave his family far? It is unnecessary stress to husband and wife and can lead to unfaithfulness (i said can).

There you are paid your full agreed amount. As a Muslim you pay 2.5% after expenses yearly what we call ZAKAT money! Sorry Sheikh, but your advice sounds like a person whose IQ is in single digits. That advise is only applicable if the guy is unemployed The best option is for this guy to do a cost benefit analysis and see what are his net savings between the two jobs. There is a likelihood of an increase in miscellaneous expenses and entertainment expenses in Jeddah, which might lead to nil increase in net savings as compared to his current job in Kenya Western thinking is incidental in the holy land. Why on earth would you advise anyone to have that mentality when going to Jeddah, just a few kilometers from Mecca of all places? Swenani, why?

Yes and Jeddah is a nice place though with that kind of money he will be living from Hand to mouth if s/he was to admit his/her kids in international schools in Jeddah-The more reason he should do a CBA If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

Hio ni pesa kidogo sana.If he is a professional,he should negotiate for a base salary of USD 60K p.a Tax free+a post differential allowabce, free housing, free transport, relocation costs+ atleast two paid annual leaves back to Kenya and a paid vacation. Jeddah is not expensive but the propensity to spend is high die to many restaurants and outings and the fact that s/he will be socializing with other expats(s/he might be the only low paid expat), unless s/he wants to socialize with househelp expats. But again it will depend with how much he is currently making right now, kama ni below USD 35K gross p.a here in Kenya, let him go Thanks Swenani for useful advice (and everyone else), in Kenya he makes a net of 200k shillings pm currently. How bad are things there for family especially when one does not have kids. Good to know living costs are not too bad either our goals are best achieved indirectly

One has to do "cost benefit" analysis. My assumption was the guy has done his calculation and this was an increase in income. I am not very familiar with these salaries stuff internationally. I'm just a mere farmer

Good to know living costs are not too bad either Personally I would rather work in Kenya for 200k than in Saudi Arabia for three hundred and something. Is he going to learn anything new ama ni kazi tu? I would actually accept a lower salary if I am learning something significant which I can use in future to negotiate for a higher salary. But if it is doing the same things I have been doing in Kenya, wacha nikae kwetu. But it depends on an individual. If he likes adventure/ travelling and he has no family he can give it a thought if the increased income will not be eaten up by the cost of living. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

But you will be required to comply with law and rules of the country, which include dressing modesty. Of course your wife will not walk around in a miniskirt. Although, nobody will force a non Muslim, but she has to dress responsibly, and she (wife) will interact with Muslim women there, and co-exist together.
