We need to eat. Daily.

this is a perfect example of how the index can crash and escape unhurt

Though do not mix up 'share price' to 'profits' ... Unga went through some tough times but they seem to have stabilized i.e. profitability.
- Reduction of expensive debt
- Focus on higher-end products [vs other millers]
- Strong brand names
- 100% control of Unga (Uganda) Millers allows them to expand their presence

I don't know how profitable bread is but Unga plans to introduce mid-market bread using Ennsvalley but sold under 'Unga' [Ennsvalley Acquisition discussions]. At the minimum, it gives them a captive market for their wheat flour.

Still waiting for results. Are they being cooked? If yes, hopefully not over-cooked!

Thanks. So this week Friday or next week.
Bonuses are a waste of time and effort. Same size of the pie with smaller but more slices = Same size of the share of the pie

I hope they have substantially boosted their 2014-15 profits [EPS] from on-going operations and show signs of maintaining a positive profit trend in 2016...

2015-16, will not be easy, characterized by high interest rates, weak KES and inflation.

The Nyaga family (Victus) have 51% but could the 'companies' and 'nominees' accumulating shares be related/connected to the Nyaga family?

The Nyaga family owned shares in Ennsvalley which was sold to Unga. The Nyagas are known to increase their stakes using Rights Issues [see NIC].

Top 12 shareholders
68.46% (Jan 2014)
71.09% (Jun 2015)

After they get over the 75% hurdle, they can launch a takeover or de-listing. The 75% can be achieved by buying shares from the market or a Rights Issue allocation that favors them. Thereafter, they can separate the real estate, manufacturing and 'brand' assets and find a Strategic Investor for each class of asset.
