I'm waiting for a statement from CMA tomorrow stating that they have nothing to do with this otherwise they should all just pack and go home. Pastor Kanyari would do a better job as the investors watchdog!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Simple, just introduce short selling at NSE. Such ridiculous listings will be dealt with accordingly.

http://www.kurwituventures.com/ They say in an advert that they will be listing 102,272 shares under GEMS to start trading on 13th Nov. 2014. I cant understand what they do, even as I read their website. Is there anyone who knows them?

I still do not understand what they do and how they got approved to list on the stock exchange. Is there something am not seeing?

Kweli,CMA is presiding over a fish mkt if this BS is allowed to happen. I know these chaps have brokers ready to do their bidding for them. There's money to be had every which way.Poor Wanjiku might be gored by the bull.

Who has the information memos of this Kurwitu Ventures and Flame Tree Group?

Where can we get them...I know Home Afrika which is now trading at below Sh4 from above Sh20 released theirs on the day they listed and even then getting it was a problem...

At this rate I would rather buy potassium permanganate for resale

Hey all - looks like Kurwitu Ventures will be listing by introduction as well. It's backed by some heavy hitters including former Dyer & Blair heavyweights Mohammed Hassan and Abdullahi Abdirahman. It's going to be pushing Sharia compliant investments which are in line with Islamic law and teachings on investment. Many Kenyan SMEs are ready to go public but have been hindered in the past. It's the beginning of a new wave of wider capital market access!

Pushing them to where?

This seems to be very new to many Kenyans. I recommend some light research on how Sharia compliant finance works and who they target (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_banking); and

the GEMS board of NSE (https://www.nse.co.ke/media-center/press-release.html?download=6259%3Apress-release-launch-of-the-growth-enterprise-market-segment).

Obviously you take losses. The idea for short selling is to bring sanity in the crazy casino. If you float and the market is not convinced your prices are meant to be at a premium, short sellers do their job.

Interesting link on Kurwitu's twitter feed (@kurwituventures) - according to the Economist magazine, the global Sharia compliant financial industry holds assets worth $2 trillion! http://www.economist.com...big-interest-no-interest
