Not a buy for me at the moment, the growth is good, the dividend is generous but the price is not sustainable in the medium term, however I cannot rule it going back to 50 or slightly above temporarily.

Go with your gut feeling, I reckon

With the unpredictable nature of stock markets,i think it would have been wiser for hfck to do their rights this year which can be succesful other than waiting for the unknown. However the presence of muscle shareholders like britam will hugely make the issue a success whatever the timing may be the rights can only injure the small men when caught offguard.

Subscriber register,switching system and billing platform you can't outsource;these are the core of a mobile phone company.
What equity is outsourcing is the putting of towers all over to net subscribers.

@Ericsson the only hardware equity have are the SMSC and MGW which they already had for mobile money. Switching and subscriber registers, both HLR and VLR, are being handled by Airtel while billing is handle by a belgian MVNE(Mobile Virtual Network Enabler).

@arkard;
They didn't have the hardware with the mobile money;what was done was to link their database which to the mobile phone providers netwrok.
If they had the two then they could already been having the prefix.
HLR equity has to have as they have their own prefixe and servers are being setup at equity center.
They will also have a customer care/contact center to be checking the client particulars whenever they report a problem
All in all equity will spend a conisderable amount in setting up the mvno

Yea, it's a costly affair putting into consideration they have also hired additional staff for the same. But the CAPEX is nothing compared to a full scale mobile network.

Why is Equity bank cashing out of this diamond? And pre rights too boot?

Though member has made a significant loot from capital gains from 20/share to 41/share (intended selling price) and will earn around 1.2B. Very likely for member to post higher PBT than KCB in 2014 if member books that profit this year.

Again I ask why is member selling this diamond? Who sells their gold or diamond?

Where will HF get cheap loans from with member walking away?

1) At the right price you sell your gold and your diamonds.
2) HFCK did not get cheap loans from Equity. It raised the funds via bonds + deposits. HFCK is trying to lower its cost of capital and deposits.
