Don't hope.It is working.

We just need to seal the "theft" loopholes.
This guys collect 35Billion annually and trust me Kenyans are a healthy lot. They don't fall ill that often. It will get better of more people(SMES) contribute.

I was pleasantly surprised when it paid for my cucus treatment.

Does this work if you update payment in lumpsum? My old man last paid up in Aug 2015 but needs an operation costing around 200k?

yap with some kidogo penalties and i think a month's waiting period. Please take it upon yourself to pay that premium for the oldman on monthly basis. It is worth it.

So, if i topped up today, he would be ineligible next week AA?

I'm in the same boat. we updated today and they told us we have to wait two months

when you reactivate an account that payment was not updated, you have to wait for, i think 2-3 months, before you can use the 'card'.

It updates on the instant

it's really helped us with our uncle on his cancer treatment. I would urge kenyans to stop being fatalistic and register and try to keep it regular - inaweza kuokolea mbaya!!

For the 'unemployed' @500 bob, you are better off paying prepared only 6k per year ..... very affordable

Will just say this. Register for NHIF and encourage all your relatives to register for it too. I can say without fear of contradiction that this is currently one of the best run government programs.

Why separate, any extra benefits?

Can someone pay in a lump sum for one year? The contribution being 500 per month for 12 months coming to 6,000. Would their system treat it as a month contribution or spread over 12 months?

Yap, it does that. Then you check the payment and it will show you that you have paid upto whatever month 07-2018 basically July 2018.

This is what i do with one of my sisters who is not well off...... Covers her and her family. No pressure when now they need medication / Hospitalization.
