What we are trying to address here is Mourinho's tactics as viewed by the players not the fans. For the fans trophies mean everything but for a player like Xavi (or Casillas) who has won almost everything available in football it becomes less of a motivation.
Buda boss, we brought Arsenal to show the argument in context. Like I said, Xavi has won everything, so he is entitled to his opinion. But his opinion is not gospel truth. There are very many managers in club football, Mourinho is one of them. Despising him doesn't necessarily mean he is a hated figure. So Arsene Wenger develops players, they feel nice expressing themselves through the Frenchman's tactical and technical nous. But what happens next? They want to win the damn trophies. Off they go to clubs where they can achieve that. That's a fact, a cold hard fact.
