Maybe it's time for another Mbuzi to lighten some pockets ;) No, he realized that its Njaanuary and fees have to be paid for the children. Trust me the Nil by Mouth for Ruaraka waters will soon be forgotten come end month. "Never regret, if its good, its wonderful. If its bad, its experience."

2. Last year but one...2012. A guy we were in campus with...was working for KCB. They are so drunk, driving along Mombasa road. Kufika Nyayo, they forgot kuna round-about. Drove on top of it. Car crushed. Lives crushed.
3. Mid last year, July specifically. A friend from Nyeri. Guys quite drunk. They decide to road test a new Subaru. Drives along valley road, takes a turn at the Kenyatta avenue round about n drives upwards towards hurlingam. Just at the round about near Total, they forgot to break, hit a car that was already on the round about. Guys rushed to Nairobi hospital. Few days later, the guy is dead...
Those r guys I knew personally. Very young n promising lives lost. There are many more such sad stories. They had driven b4 when drunk but these were just days they either took slightly more, or they were tired, or whatever. Only them could tell the tale, but its too late. Dead gives no stories. If only alcoblow had come, maybe they could have feared on those specific nights n they wud still be with us.
About Govt n EABL, they better have you drink a few bottles n drink for long, than drink 20 bottles n drink for your final night. Your longer live would make more business sense to them.
One more challenge is that you may be OK risking your live like that, but on the way yu hit n kill or maim an innocent guy who was just driving safely. Why now?
Don't drink when drunk. Its not fair to either you or other road users. Am talking of major road accidents..Are they caused by drunk drivers? Mahi Mahiu accident and the rest. If a guy finds himself on top of Nyayo roadabout he should pay the 'beauticians' of that roundabout, even when he is dead!

YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH! Effects...Hope you got home safe...At least no car reported having perched on top of a roundabout.

Just yesterday,a young man known to me veered of the road with his dad's SUV.Knocked down two pedestrians while the vehicle proceeded and crushed into a tree. One elderly pedestrian died in hospital hours later. His son has a bad spine and will probably never walk again. The young driver and his friend are in bad shape. You can imagine the agony of the two families.A Life cut short and dreams shattered. Here is what i say.Anything that will stop deaths on our roads.Any test, even if it means kissing the *ss of a donkey, let's have it! Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Pole...We are talking of responsible drinking. If the father gave him the SUV, he should be sued for aiding the young man to die.

To me the introduction of this thing is a sideshow. Accidents will continue happening. Michuki (God bring him back!)gave us the solutions to our road problems and we screwed those solutions. What we are doing is behaving like that man the late Chinua Achebe talked about; '... Behaving like a man who leaves a burning hut to pursue a rat fleeing from the flames...' Alcoblow is not the solution and will never work.

If there was enough security people would stagger home...But can you tell me what state you would be by the time you arrive home from Psys T-mall and taking Mbagathi road all the way up... ...So many things need fixing before we come to this...Issues are in the burning hut...let the rat run to safety!!!

I have painted a yellow stripe around my Nissan Sunny, and so far so good. I drove by the Alcoblow cops recently and they just urged me on. Learn first to treat your time as you would your money, then treat your money as you do your time.

Alcoblow is not the solution and will never work. @wakwitu, all the measures post Michuki rules have been side shows but that is because the solution - common sense and responsibility - is not being applied by Kenyans. Michuki, may he rest in peace, showed us the way and what we should have done as citizens is to follow nyayo zake. What is also interesting is how other drivers were so keen for these rules to be applied to the public transport sector and cry foul when ga'ament tries to enforce law on private drivers Sasa tunataka sirkal itufate mpaka ndani ya magari na midomo yetu? Drink if you must but for the sake of yourself and the rest of us, do not drive when drunk. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. - Muhammad Ali🐝

I still maintain the biggest risks are: 1. Unroadworthy vehicles. 2. Unqualified / disrespectful drivers 3. Overloaded vehicles (whether freight or passenger). 4. Lack of seat belts, airbags and child car seats. 5. Overspeeding 6. Absolutely ATROCIOUS road markings and traffic signals. Very few painted roads (think yield / stop signs); speed limits; turn/no-uturn indications; double-single yellow markings; edges of the road; street lighting...the list goes on and on.
Will all the above flaws, you could be a stone-cold sober driver and still get into an accident! Literally, in Kenya, you have to only drive on roads you know like the back of your hand AND be sober!

You are right.Very right. If you add drunkenness to that list, you can't have a better situation, can you?. My thinking is that you would go from bad to worse. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.
