There's nothing like 'true emancipation' and neither is there 'false emancipation'.
'Emancipation' on the other hand is 'alienation bringing forth more alienation'. It's an event, a state, and process that sustains 'master-slave' relationships perpetually and in different guises. Emancipation is no where equal to 'liberty' because the emancipator must use force to emancipate and the emancipated must always live under the emancipator's spell and power. Equality is never achieved because the emancipated is always indebted.
Supposing one was to use Maslow's hierarchy as a standard, what would be expected of him? How would the standard apply? Maslow can be understood as talking about individuals and the species climbing the evolutionary ladder. His is an 'intelligent description' of 'progress'; but it's time bound. If new thoughts are not added, then the unthinking must be 'emancipated' by the thoughtful. So if one uses Maslow as a standard then he/she must expect 'emancipation' and more slavery.
'Emancipation' is trick of the ego that always is; the process and events are illusions. Emancipation can never be equal to 'transcendance'. Transcendance is above every idea, or thing, and can hardly be achieved through emancipation.
Transcendance comes from ego disintegration and consciousness of universal identity.
