[quote=premio]You guys are getting nothing 5 cars worth 32500usd 2.85mKES from a regular customer. No one said they release documents for the unpaid unit but at least 1 or 2 of the fully paid units do u get now Mr Tokyo

Pole sana. Now I understand.
If you buy cars in Bulk from SBT and other exporting only companies, those and other issues regularly do happen.Reasons; several.
If I were you,but I'm not.This is what I could have done;
-look for a mid size company dealing with both domestic and export market as opposed to export only companies. They got Japanese touch of Honesty and quality service. stability as well.
-with time trust between supplier and you depending on how you respect the agreements. meaning they can afford to sell cars on credit. This what usually happens in Phillipine market. Supplier sending several units on credit while you pay after you sell or depending on agreements.
-if you buy more than 4units at a time, better use container instead RO-RO.its cheaper and inner cargo like spare parts/electronics possible.(extra income)

@ premio pole sana for your predicament. well l have been selling vehicles for a while now and bought from SBT and other companies in Japan.
my question to you, which sales rep did you deal with coz l can hook up some other sales rep from the same company SBT to comment on the issues raised.

will just link him to the forum

Not many exporters will agree to send documents without full payment. They have a really bad experience in African market. Please understand.

I just noted they have a shipped docked in Mombasa and they're selling over 500 cars on stock. does it mean they have such level of rocks and they dock on the port and sell their stock? Most cars are over 8 yrs and seems they are targetting ten neigbouring states that do not have the age gag. Looks like a good idea as one can just view the vehicle and if interested buy and drive. Saw an Axio for $5600 that seems a god deal.

Tokyo Im having the same 1001 stories. For my case the car arrived 8 days ago and I have been moved to and fro waiting for the clearance documents. I have literally ended up begging for documents which are rightfully mine. SBT NEVER AGAIN.
Na pia papera wanaanza hiyo upuzi. Bought a unit from them almost 20 days ago and they tell me after much probing that the unit displayed on their site belonged to an associate dealer so they first have to change ownership... then a typhoon came and they had some difficulties... NKT

@ Rahatupu...
I dont think their standards are the same as they used to be over the last few years. I have bought 3 units from them, this being the third. The biggest problem with them is communication. Probably it may be Jun, my account manager. You send upto 5 e-mails before you get a reply. The best person to me has been Madhoka. Very nice lady and her english on the phone is soo good. How I wish I could have the account managers changed!! As for quality... its your luck sometimes. Service is ish ish. they don't communicate on shipment schedules, When the ship is supposed to fika (BOL) and dont communicate when they send the clearance documents. In terms of service... Try delights and report back. All documents shipped at least 2 weeks before the ship arrives.

The documents have finally been sent today. 10 days after the ship docked. Of course I will receive them in about two days. Sad because the CFS im using is only giving me 15 days free storage.

Trump. I received my documents on saturday and to my shock the ORIGINAL BL was showing someone elses name. My free storage days expire today. I have had to call the CFS and plead my case because it was entirely the mistake of sbtjapan right from sending the documents way after the car arrived to sending wrong documents. I am yet to sort out the mess. Been referred to sbt mombasa where we have camped for 2 days without help. I am totally awed by the callousness with which sbtjapan have handled my case. I paid in full promptly after negotiating and even paid duty before I received the final documents. Furthermore they wrote a mail talling me that they have an arrangement with my CFS for 21 days free storage, of which the CFS has denied knowing of such an arrangement. I have forwarded their mails to the CFS. Its sad that sbt have to take one through what i have undergone
