@ Rayee,

Why are you contemplating a 25k job when you say you have 3m with Old Mutual?

I feel you guys. Banks not just BBK by their very nature have an allure that sometimes proves irresistable especially to 'impressionable' young graduates. They will attract some of the best brains in the nation and then send them to do routine operational work. Overtime, even someone that started out as brilliant ends up being a zombie due to the routine work environment and total lack of intellectual challenge. End result? In 2-3 years you will be irrelevant. And it happens over and over again...

I have worked in banking and would advise that you need to be very careful. As an individual, evaluate your career goals at the onset and plan your own life separate from what the organization's HR plans for you. Then evaluate and do courses that will drive you towards your goal. In other words, read. If you cannot for example afford an MBA at the time, there are alot of other professional courses that cost much less but would still broaden your thinking. That way,you expand your options both within and without the organization you are in. One of my promotions was as a result of a course that cost me less than 35k. I ended up with a 40% pay rise!

It will take some sacrifice. But you will not regret it in the end.

Time and chance happen to all.
