Young Tycho, I thought we agreed you will sit this one out? smile

So if happiness is nothingness, how come some of us experience it?

Nothingness can be experienced. One only has to lose his/her self. If the self is lost, then only the wind remains, and blowing in whatever direction has no trauma.

But if one serves the ego, there'll always be pain and suffering, though one can buy anaesthetics now and then.

Liar.

Experience requires sensation and apprehension.

'Nothing' cannot be sensed.

Or can you tell us which organ senses nothing?

Panama

The list includes some of the most heavily taxed citizens - in bold

Need I say more?

Tycho,

I think you are getting your nouns all confused.
'nothing'
'wind'
'trauma'
'ergo'
'anesthetics'

All in effort to prove that 'happiness' is 'nothingness.'

Perhaps you meant to say 'happiness is not 'tangible'?

Intangible is a far cry from 'nothingness.'

'Something' and 'nothing' are 'different' in terms of defining limits, and 'sensations'.

Organs, entail 'function' or 'order', events, 'sense', 'knowledge', and 'relational awareness'.

'Something', is definable to a conscious 'I'. 'Nothing' has no range, and is therefore, 'undefinable'.

The 'undefinable' is definitely 'sensible'; but the question is, does this 'organ' have a name? It can't have a name. If it had a name, it would have a limited range of sensation and 'nothing' is 'unlimited'.

Let's take an example. When you come out of cave you've been living in for decades and into the 'light', what will you see?

I don't think the issue here is 'proving'. A proof requires 'homogeneous' conditions which don't exist in our case. What's happening here is 'description', 'clarification' through 'sense adjustment' to match frequency levels.

Consider your radio. For it to be 'useful' it shouldn't be fixed at a given frequency. That is, it should be fixed at 'no frequency'.

The same with happiness. One can't say a fixed routine of spending time and money is the formula for happiness. Why? Conditions are never 'homogenous', therefore there can never be a formula. Only being can be guaranteed.

And the being, is 'happiest' when 'nothing'.
