The fear is a bit overplayed. The two would ordinarily be the very first persons to be aware of the implications of going around tied-at-the-hip...and secondly the security chiefs will take steps to counter any perceived increase in security risk...that's their job.

Not bothered, there won't be a gap as Jb or cj Wm will be there. On that area our constitution was well done, so no fear of a constitutional crises.

But "office of the president" and "office of the deputy president" is not the physical room where they work from! these are "ministries"; and there many others along Harrambee avenue.... and even more crowded at Community area of Nairobi.

The president's physical office is located at State House; the DP's is at Harambee avenue.

However, the two need to keep the joint attendance at functions to a minimum.

There was an episode of "West Wing" where the US president was attending Congress to make the state of the union address. His handlers were frantically looking for a "Guy" to be left at White house,

Logic being that since the president, his deputy and cabinet secs will all be at the function, if the place was attacked, they needed some one in the line to be left "just in case"

I suspect the reason they are always together is for public confidence that they are indeed 1 team.

Curtis Jackson made it...
why the hell do you think harambee avenue cant be downed?

Then several of your styles of writing are so similar that they tend to sound like they were uttered by the same person...and mark you some of them are exact word by word.

Is someone agreeing with Makau Mutua? Not that for him it was about security.

I do agree it's rather odd though that the president and his deputy seem to be going almost everywhere together. I expect it will wear off with time otherwise we probably don't need both fellows to begin with.
