Well, some folks made money and of course they received the 50 cts dividend. But a bad share remains a bad share. The chickens are coming home to roost!

@nyari - Please don't compare Kapchorua [real land, profits & tea] vs FIRE [smoke & mirrors]... Apple vs Oranges

merali bought the shares at 5/- from ICDC [not ICDCIC] then sold them to the public for 34.50 or so! I sat it out...

BTW, 'Sameer Tyres' gave up the land on Mombasa Rd for only 25% of the project... I betcha the 'other' 75% is also merali...

Sameer Africa Dividends - Once again a case of now you see them now you don't. Shareholders better hope for the GoK to demolish the plant and pay them off!

This is a classic example of a share that any growth or value oriented investor should avoid like the plague.

Over the 7 year period from 2004 to 2010, the company has grown its turnover by a MERE 2.28% while profits after tax have dropped by 79%. Of course, you can imagine what has happened to the share price!

This barrel will soon have no bottom. Demolition will be the last straw. You can be sure the chief will find a way of ensuring that the assets that will be destroyed (and compensated) were all his, not owned together with the minority shareholders.

I checked & I have been telling sameer africa shareholders... The building & land for the new biz park belongs 75% to merali & 25% to SameerAfrica.

Which means if the buildings are demolished & land taken then all SameerAfrica will get will be peanuts [after paying off the loans]...

Even Sameer reported a 12% up in profits for H1 2011. Seems neveready might also report a rise in earnings.
