I saw her in a talk last year not TED and although Kenyans don't know about it she represented Kenya and Africa in an elegant manner. Of late it seems the African woman is taking more stands and leaderships positions.

I started watching TedTalks when that malawian boy built a windmill and I was hooked. I have however watched many good ones and some bad. However 2 really stand out for me namely....
'the danger of the single story' which I have watched it multiple times coz it captures my spirit (succeeding inspite of)
and the most inspiring talk i.e. 'autonomous flying robots' by Vijay Kumar coz it made me act and build my own 'raiyacopter'

Kid build nuclear reactor in basement

Drones are in season. Many developers and techies are getting into them now. I saw a real estate agent in the U.S. using a drone to showcase the house. The applications are interesting. Keep the videos coming.I appreciate them.

Oh yeah - that's another one i watched (but after watching http://www.microsoft.com.../aug11/08-17Fusion.aspx).

As for the drones, its very gratifying to see stuff you have built with your own two hands take off for the skies - however let not the video fool you - it is not a toy, its dangerous - I nearly lost a thumb playing with that thing and had to get 4 stitches.

I watched a talk, can't remember which one which said that we are at the infrastructure stage of the internet.Like how the 1920's was for electricity. The are those who are more interested with the infrastructure and there those who are thinking ahead and think about appliances like tv's,radios,computers...this guy is is the application part.Today I'm very happy with wazua.Applause Applause Applause

Big fan of TEDTalks...KISS TV nowadays airs a few of them, not sure when...I keep stumbling on it on most weekends. But my best has to be Peter van Uhm: Why I chose a gun... Brilliant narrative on why his instrument is a gun.

This "Mathemagician" guy is out-of-this-world. His mind = wow!

I discovered him in youtube, did not know that he did a ted. Will look for it.

There's an old TEDTalk, where a professor does magic with statistics and regression analysis then at the end of it he does real magic. "Nothing is what it seems"
"Money never sleeps"

I agree with him. For mechanical work, incentives work but otherwise, incentives restrict you as it narrows your work to reaching the goal: the incentive!
