sparkly thank you for clarifying the matter for me. The government has done a great job in terms of infrastructure although spending on recurring expenditures is too high. Now it's time for Kenyans to utilize this opportunity and start generating income. Just complaining won't change how things are, action is what we need.

What about the remuneration committee that is being set up in line with the new constitution.. It will be completely independent & promises to correct many of these problems!

Kenya has began to change!!

Thats so true. I'm also afraid that the young generation will start following in their footsteps making it harder to break the cycle. We might be headed the euro way with our debt if we're not careful. Some years back I remember wazuans were still discussing about a real estate boom like in the US and spain and if Kenya was next. I don't mind the increased spending even if it doesn't match the revenue collection but not for bogus expenses like you've pointed out.

A good example of a foolish statement!

Matusi nayo, but i know i am right, it will finance the retirement package of rais, pm, vp, mps et al, and what do they need it for. who is fooling who?
@KingG Tuko Pamoja. Hawa ni wizi.

To hear such statements coming out of adults makes me ashamed to be African!
Will vision 2030 pay for itself?? We can't be stuck in the old kenyan mentality! Kwani you think GOK officials can still just walk into KRA and collect funds as they please?!
Then be ashamed. Most MPs are thieves. Many ministers & civil servants (& relatives) own firms that 'compete' for business from the ministries including (un)charity ngilu. Even atwoli has a disproportionate number of his family members working for NSSF.
These are professional thieves who use proxies like law firms that bill millions for little work. Or bidders who bid the lowest amount, win but then "officially" vary contracts at much higher margins.

Stop crying about the past & look to solving the future.. All your comments are about past mistakes still affecting us today!

Well, when a Wazuan (@KingG) stated correctly that corruption & 'eating' is planned you went off on him/her. Now you claim the problems are still present. Stop doing a kalonzo on us. We are IDENTIFYING the problems & challenges. You want us to sweep them under the carpet & say "look, no more problems". Doesn't work like that.

Unfortunately the ruling class(young and Old) belongs in that past and everything they do is peg and geared towards that past.

So they are thinking of reintroducing capital tax gains on land, stocks, bond and "other investments"(I'm thinking maybe cars) if you sell before 5years of purchase. This is going to be interesting.

the easy money in kenyan real estate has already been made.from now onwards you will have to work really hard and smart to make the same returns witnessed in the last 10 yrs especially if you are buying at today's prices
