the disconnection was not meant for unregistered lines.
I might be wrong, but I don't think the mobile providers have the same database of the phone serials - there might be situations where a handset will work on one network and not on the other

...yes you are wrong unregistered lines also will go off and this thing waz across board if u hv a ching chong fone which waz working at scom it shudnt work in any other mobile operator...thats what the IMEI No is for,the fake fones at timez have multiple or non existent IMEI...sasa wale wauzaji wa mfangano strt wth their fake nukias watazipeleka,KEBS should b sued with a gud lawyer you can win this case...

Include AG and Mr. Eat rat in that suit. But so far i have not heard of any switched phone.
