The issues raised were weighty. Any honest pastor would not have proceeded with the ceremony. If I was the officiating pastor, I would have stopped it. If the guys really were keen on my presiding over the wedding, I would only have proceeded if the allegations were found to be false after an investigation.

What shocked me is that the church relied on the advice of the Church lawyer. By relying on the lawyer's advice alone, the Pastor reduced himself to just any other agent at the AG's office who conducts weddings. A higher threshold is expected for a church wedding and especially when one of the persons participating in marriage is a Pastor.

That girl who was getting married is also not genuine. The issue raised before her eyes should have been enough to send shock waves in her and should nit have continued with her dancing like nothing had happened. I guess she could have been pregnant.

She knows the kind of man the husband is...
...It is so sad that a church of such reputation would allow a wedding like that to continue...

They addressed it in church today.

First, only the wife is a member of the church. She serves in the choir. The pastor belongs to another church.

Second, there was a 2 hour interlude after the commotion began. All parties were listened to, grievances heard and councelling took place. 2 hours. After which (this much I'll trust the man of God) all parties wishing to distrupt the wedding apologized; one was in tears of remorse.

The couple was also counselled, after which they agreed to proceed with the wedding. The church lawyer is a pastor himself.
