Do you think it has anything to do with age? Ati unakata sukuma and later iron my underwear on the same worktop. Appetite nayo??

You did good. I hope you highlighted the problem in soft, polite manner. Next time it happens, criticize her in funny, sarcastic way, this works for women. Like "Hey, yahwa, yaani that worktop is for everything? Can I 'iron' you right now on top there".

To discourage this from becoming a habit, bring up the issue later today.
- Tell her you'd like to say something about the issue in this morning.
- Tell her you think if you both iron clothes at the right places, then you'll be role models to everyone in the house in doing the right thing.
- Tell her: just imagine the house girl ironing your best clothes in the kitchen and stains them in the process?
- Then take her hand, without smiling, and tell her that you're proud of her in many ways and that you're sure she'll hear you out and understand that you were not happy about it.

Then, do not argue further, be be normal and do not bring it up again.

This way, you become 'park-leader' in your home and your wife will appreciate it someday.

Well said!!...Sam can add an ironing board and by so doing,she will no longer have a reason to ever iron on the kitchen top.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

@Sheri I don't know if you're socket or plug. But I'll assume you're airport.

You see, from my experience, you can't win when it comes to women, I mean the ones we call our wives. You just have to be smart in a good way. My uncle called it "treat them like children, love and punish appropriately". Whether you agree with this or not is up to you, there are consequences to everything.

Otherwise, this arrogance of saying "Is she a kid!". First they will blame you for treating them like kids, then they will use your harsh words against you later when you've already forgotten what the issue was. They have memory like the jumbos!! d'oh!

@butterflyke when a man tells you about his problems, he expects you to offer solution to fix. Literally! SO I try to make it clear...

But be wary when I woman talks about her problems, experts tell us do not offer any solution, just node and listen. Ama vipi?

That woman is multitasking.
She may choose to do it elsewhere and limit herself to ironing only or use the kitchen to iron,make tea,clean up,come up with dinner menu, so much one can do in the kitchen.
I believe she is ironing very clean clothes not dirty underwears or sweaty shirts.
