Weee @ , that was not a hate song, rather a legendary one. The three must be banned n the singers charged in court. Kamande is actually a favourite, but his careless daliance with politics deserves no mercy. Can't these idiots sing for love n unity? What informed them to insult a whole community simply coz they don't go for the cut? Jail them! TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

@kabz, have u watched the videos? Is the interpretation true? ... Imagine you own a vernacular station, wont u hesitate before playing any song touching on the cut? Hutia ngoige by wa Kioi has a contentious line too- Hutia ngoige nduri wekwo ati, hutia ngoige ukoragwo wi omera, where do we draw the line?

What pains me is the fact that there are people ready to excuse this nonsense as freedom of expression. I dare say Kibunjia will investigate till the cows come home. When will this guy stop talking and do something? Nkt Great men are not always wise, neither do the aged understand judgement...

It is a nice surprise to see some Wazuans castigating this type of music!!! But honestly, I don't see Kibunja doing anything..and the fact that when convicted you either get 7 years or pay 1 million...no guessing which one the musicians will choose...

Any Gikuyu speaker who has verified?

Any Gikuyu speaker who has verified? if you do a word for word translation the meaning gets lost, coz they have used a lot of sayings and religious connotations (actually they are heavily based on religion and politics) so interpreting the same is a bit muddy. I don't think there is much in the songs, just some guys trying to make some extra cash.

Here is some hate speech for you. I think Kibunja and his team are just toothless lions and they have done nothing, don't do anything and will never do anything to anyone anyhow. If they still want to wait for the "official" interpretation of the songs, then exactly what do they do in those offices other than get free tax payer money. It was on youtube even mzungus are commenting on the three songs. Arrest them, then let them go tetea themselves mbele. But Mzalendo Kibunja and his smile are still "investigating". Their very presence in those offices is hate speech. Jose: If I make it through this thug life, I'll see you one day. The Lord is the only way to stop the hurt.

Hate speech in every sense of the word. Those with a soft spot for UK appear to be making all manner of skewed interpretations. Like I said, I always felt time would catch up with them. @Lolest, the ones you mention are not. The CONTEXT is totally different. Saddest thing is, Muigai is a gospel musician! TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

I think they should be prosecuted and jailed ili iwe funzo. It is sad that such prominent musicians would sink this low. Why couldn't they sing songs that talk to voters to elect who they think is great? BBI will solve it :)
