In retrospect, having your drawings approved as a result of undue influence by your Mpig is also called.......................corruption. What happens to those who have no access to the MPig? KACC should have been the way to go.

A building under construction in kiambu has just collapsed killing 2 people and 20 souls are trapped in the debris.....................may be the developer fastracked the drawings approvals via his MPig.

I may not know why i vote but making my Mpig do an illegality is certainly not one of the reasons.

I repeat......................what u did constitutes corruption.

Its amazing how some people believe that corruption is only about parting with money.

mwenza, you being up a valid point. it is disappointing that all those that responded to the initial post here did not find it wrong for an mp to unduly influence the approval of a building plan. just whom did the mp consult to conclude that the plans were in order? or the mp is qualified. it is well likely that the approval was not granted due to defect in the plans - may be like the poster said, the buildings in that area are not supposed to have balconies. and yes,the fact that a neighbouring building does not have one does not mean that it is right - probably means that the owner had to pay money or use his/her mp.

it is really ironical that we are the first to scream corruption even as we indulge in corrupt practices.

Its easy for you to sit on your high chair and accuse me of corruption. Don't pick and choose the lines that fit your ideology( read the whole post). The so called engineer came out and told me point blank ( NO KITU KIDOGO,NO PLANS WILL EVER BE APPROVED). spare me the BS coz you did not drive to Kikuyu for over ten times,You did not waste your time going to Kikuyu to see a guy and when you get there you are told he is not in yet you had called him the previous day and he told you to show up... I tried to do this for a year by myself with no success.

Its easy to sit there and accuse me of corruption, all my Mp did was to ask the reason why i was being asked for a bribe....If i was corrupt i would have given my Mp the Plans from day one and have him use his influence.DO NOT DARE ACCUSE ME OF CORRUPTION AFTER WHAT I WENT THROUGH. SAVE YOUR SERMON TO SOMEONE WHO CARES

Nobody has declared that 'engineer' an angel...............The point is money need not change hands for corruption to happen.

money maker, the number of times you had to travel to kikuyu in determining whether there was corruption is unfortunately irrelevant.

and you said - 'He has asked for changes to my plan 3 times .He even asked me to remove the balcony's yet the bulding next door has plenty of Balconies'.

the fact that you were asked to make changes three times on your plan by an engineer on the face of it suggests that there was something wrong with them. now your objectivity in this matter is lost when you go on and imply that your balconies needed to be allowed as the 'next door building' also had them. so if it had them as a result of bribing the engineer then it is okay for you also to have them? did you bother to find out why the changes were needed? why the balconies could not be allowed? you never told us and now that your mp bulldozed your plans we may never know.

please note that the fact that the guy asked you for a bribe does not necessarily mean that your plans were okay. the bribe may have been either so that he could do his job and approve your good plans or so that he can close his eyes and approve your bad/defective plans. given the facts that you have provided herein, the latter position seems more probable.

I guess we will never agree to disagree. As for my plans that you claim might have been at fault. The same engineer who was giving me the run arounds is the same engineer who approved 3 buildings next to my Lot.They have balconies all around...Give me a break. You have the nerve to accuse me of corruption. I am currently using the same plans in Kitengela...I did not have an issues at all. My plans were approved within 2 months of presenting them. This is not the first time i have dealt with a town council. Its amazing that both of you are concentrating on the fact that i asked for help after 1 year of running around.I will continue asking for help from anyone willing to help me as i push on with my investments. The diffrence between me and you is i will do everything legal to make sure the corrupt officials don't stand in my way.( I guess i might have hit a nerve with you two.Might it be because you are part of the establishment),..... Like i said ( SAVE YOUR SERMON ).

Whether we agree or not.................one fact we cant run away from, and this is what i have attempted to demystify in my posts,is the fact that for corruption to take place, money need not change hands. That is really the basic truth and of coz the truth hurts. Bribing is synonimous to use of undue influence.
