That's how we do it! Talk of impunity or whatever but so long as the bandits aren't changing WE can't change our style.

Interesting views from wazuans. These guys were just letting out their frustration on that boy. Imagine how frustrating it is to be away from your family courtesy of the rustlers, and worse still the outsmart you and you end up being blamed. What would you do if you catch one of them.

These Turkana 'worriors' whose work is to herd goats with AK47 and rustling. I have a suggestion for the gov. Recruit those young men into military (infantry) train them and send them to deal with Al Shabaab. Rustling will be past tense. They will earn a living doing what they do best and serving their country. Three birds killed with one stone.
Life is short. Live passionately.

I once read that rustling is a traditional thing,a sort of rite of passage.
It takes a lion hunt for masai moran to prove his bravery and get a wife.

Among the turkanas,a successful cattle raid gurantees you an instant bride.
I stand to be corrected though.

beating one culprit will not solve the problem..juz lyk the mob beats a mugger,it never ends the problem..its lyk using a scarecrow

Sad Sad

You don't see anything wrong with whipping the young man's 'tools'? That Maina guy was not just whipping the behind, he was whipping the tools!

@2:44, you hear them say bado hajatoa kinyesi. Imagine being whipped to that point!

I'd rather be shot dead than receive such a beating!!

How was it controlled among the Kikuyu/Maasai? Cattle rustling was part of both societies and was very much accepted!

This Turkana incident, the incident highlighted on KTN where a witness to a killing was forced to eat his dead friend's brains, and the whole series of police/government brutality, is a clear indication that Kenya is not what the workaday person thinks it is.

Slim possible, TPF, Mali, Bulls eye, . . .

Political speeches, hymns on development, . . .

Support for so and so . . .

All these are masks we don, roles we play, circuses we watch and attend, anaesthesias we imbibe to while our otherwise very painful existences away.

Meanwhile, let us be polite and docile and very fearful . . . I am presently hurdled in a corner, very afraid for my balls.

I know he now feels more pain than yesterday, those blisters!
