If you have a newly imported car, take to AL-Husnain Motors and ask for Rana. He normaly imports his own cars unlike most showrooms who sell on behalf. If he agrees to take yours (you need to jitetea) then u r lucky he will sell and pay you promptly.Test drives only with known customers and hes so good u can leave your cheque book inside.
For localy used cars u must have bought from him for him to take so it pays to buy from him his prices very reasonable because its a family bussiness father sources in Japan then sons sell in Pakistan, Mombasa,Nairobi and Kisumu They source the best grades.

A friend left his at timez...3 weeks and many rounds after.....he had to hire some bouncers and cops to get his car back.

But I sold mine through Clyde Motors Near Yaya Centre and was not dissapointed.

thanks for the input. I thought any car dealer will have to first deposit atleast 90% of the agreed amount in the car owner's bank account before the car owner surrenders the original logbook & signs the K.R.A transfer form?
I've never dealt with car yard dealer's before, please educate me on the payment process once the car has been sold?

The standard procedure is you get your full payment immediately the buyer pays the yard. most payments are done in cash, bankers cheque, or EFT,hence you should wait for not more than one week to be paid. there are far too many rogue car yards, so please be very careful. I would recomend Wagon park on ngong road, i have sold 5 cars through them, and never experienced any problems.

@myson, those timez yard dealers are petty thieves. I once left i car there with quarter tank of fuel. After 4weeks the car had not been sold. I went to collect the car so that i can take it to car bazar. The car would not start, however after stepping on the accelerator continuously the car started but the fuel gauge was showing empty. The car had not been driven because the mileage that the car had when it was booked at timez had not changed. I forgot to check whether the jack was there before leaving with the car, only discovered after two days that the jack was missing. I had not taken the car for carwash or any garage. I also didn't give the vehicle to anyone so i highly believe the jack got lost at timez. After the two discoveries i.e siphoning of fuel and missing jack, i decided to tell a mechanic to check whether the plugs have been changed because mine were only 4weeks old. To my suprise the plugs had been changed with very old ones. I had to buy a new jack @1500, plugs @1200, also the siphoned about 10liters of petrol. Leave your vehicle at timez car sales at your own risk

@Muheani,
I had both a good and bad experience. on the bad side:
i)One of their staff was supposed to have taken the ride to Jamhuri on a Sunday decided not to and instead went to his own escapades. Come Monday morning and on his way to work he got an accident. He was fired and Aplus management repaired the car.
ii) Am not so sure they gave me an honest deal since info i got later after i met the buyer is that they must have shortchanged me by a cool 50 grand.
iii)After i had deposited the cheque on a Saturday, they call me on Tuesday to say that the arrangement they had with the bank to pay had been cancelled. I had a hard time over the next four days as they would ask that they pay in bits which i refused. It was not until after i had asked my lawyer to put a caveat on the vehicle transfer at KRA was i paid.
On the positive side:
i) They will actually sell your car no matter if it is the hard to sell type.
ii) They have a manger by the name Kariuki who despite it all, willkeep reassuring you so your ulcers do no go burstsmile
Am now dealing with executive super rides on Ngong rd and they have not given me a reason to run so far.
