Julie, from where I stand, use of "Am" is restricted to parlance, or in layman's language spoken language.

If you insist on short forms, the worst it gets to is "I'm" otherwise It is "I am" in full.


The COLLECT way shortening "I am" is "I'm"

This is also the COLLECT way of pronouncing it; that is, "a-i-m"

Grreat event,that number 2 winner also was no.2 last year 2010.
And sideshows will soon steal the limelight,ladies in quarter skirts,junguess in topless torsos and some miss kenya cat walk.Nkt.
But the event was worth every cent spent!
