@deal I dont think this share has ever gone past 50/= how do you see it going past it in a politically charged economy.

I dont want to cast doom on the share, but even if it reports some good results in march the market will be too jittery to respond.

This is a pennystock traders dream .

You are kidding me. Olympia may rise because of speculation and the low number of shares traded but not fundamentals. 16 is a pipe dream.

or is not sober, pun intended.
It is a curious fact that of all the illusions that beset mankind, none is quite as curious as that tendency to suppose that we are mentally and morally superior to those who differ from us in opinion.

U have been in this game too long to ask this kind of questions...when a company does well..the share price will follow

What am saying is if you adjust bonuses and rights this share has never gone beyond 50/= and am not saying those one off incidences where a share just shoots up due to a material announcement if we were to use those metrics then CFCstanbic went up to 600/=

If am quoting a future price I think using a sustainable average price is acceptable not incidental prices.

NIC traded at 67 in either 2007 or 2008 and it wasnt a spurt

Then I think am looking at the wrong charts( am looking at two different charts and its seems the share has never been above 50/=)i.e if you adjust rights and bonus .

Just b4 the rights issue it was trading at 98/= in 2007,after adjusting the right issue and the subsequent bonus(es) this share has never gone beyond 50/=

The issue is will the share be able to appreciate in value to 52/= within a span of approx. 9 months in this tough yr.

I correct that, the highest close was 121 on 19th Jan 2007.As to whether it will get to 52 in months,i believe in this market only extremely robust performance will push any share price.Be ready to hold longer otherwise frustrations get to you.
Apart from the myriad of local factors holding the market down, the Euro zone problems have created uncertain times on the global investments arena, look and how low foreign investor participation in the NSE has been lately, and when seen mostly it is on the sell side. How long this global circus goes on ,nobody knows ,i dont rule out a sharp down turn of global equities market some months down the road.
Do your research amid ,the gloom there is still money to be made.

The charts are based on mathematical models. The mathematical models used are based on actual data with some factors held constant (hence forcing the charts to tend towards linear regression). The most important assumption in the model is that every player in the market was aware of all corporate events by NIC and therefore factored these into the price....meaning if a bonus issue, all players would know about it at the same time (it is the same effect achieved when you adjust for CACs). This model over simplifies the market dynamics and in truth is imperfect because information assymetry is a fact. The most accurate measure is day to day price movements or moving average prices and these indicate that the NIC has severally traded above Sh 50. As a matter of fact I bought a small lot at Sh 43 and disposed at Sh 64 - some time in 2007 when to the best of my knowledge, there was no corporate action in the offing ~ that was in the public domain.
