Mmh, let see. True, most tenancy agreements unfortunately have this provision that a leaving tenant ought to repaint. I always advise against signing standard form tenancy agreements as a consequence. Landlords usually want you to move in, so a change of a terms is possible. Anyway in ur case, I would say 6500 may be excessive and this is something you need to calculate and determine depending on the size of your house. Second, most tenancy agreements provide that ordinary wear and tear is allowable. I always argue that if you havent scrapped the wall and plastered your name all over the place, other marks are wear and tear and reasonably 'inflicted' by you occupying the house in the first place. Am just about to move houses myself, so lets see how i argue this one with my landlord.

Boss, it is not an issue of kuchafua or kusafisha. The fact is that the house needs to be repainted when you leave at your cost!! Whether the agent paints it or not is not your business. You fulfil your end of the bargain by painting. And while at it, remember what has just been said here: you paint to the landlord's specification. So it is better they just do it boss! Move on!
