@Gadaffi, a company management has NEVER had a duty to keep shareholders happy. Their responsibility is strictly to enhance the company value, and paying a dividend certainly isn't one way. Specifically for KCB, you will recall that they used to pay an interim dividend before then stopped, most probably after seeing the light. However, if you have minuscule shareholding (SCB, DTB) then you can pay a dividend comfortably, but monoliths like KCB, Equity, SCOM....

NO CHANCE. KCB just increased their dividend this year. You should also remember that they are looking for additional funds to shore up their capital base via Tier II capital/Long term borrowing from the IFC.

Can someone tell me why Barclays is trading at a higher price than CoopBank?

The split shares are yet to be credit into the a/cs, after that the share price will show accordingly
