ecstacy, Im just requesting for a political fast .Not total ban on politics in this forum. Just a week. The fast is geared towards Wazuans reflecting and achieving a desired level of maturity when discussing political matters in the forum. It is just like food fasting . Ezra proclaimed a fast to ask God to protect His people as they journeyed to Jerusalem from exile. God responded by leading them safely to Jerusalem, delivering them from their enemies and ambushes along the way (Ezra 8:21 31). ( a bible story you have not read ) punda amecheka

I don't believe a ban on such a small section will make any difference. In fact by wazua putting this section hidden in the 'back' means anybody reading or commenting goes out of their way to seek it. A person not interested can at an individual level blackout for all their lives on wazua without intefering with others freedom of choice. Having said that being mature people and opinion shapers, we should limit our political discourse to issues and not personalities or worse tribes as has been rampant here.

newfarer wrote:Wazuans , can we give politics in this forum a blackout for a full week from say Monday 18 to Monday 26 April 2011.We discuss issues like Economy , health , easter get away, airports , aeroplanes stocks property etc but avoid the politics section just for one week? Anybody who starts a thread on politics we refuse to reply to it no matter how burning or provoking it is ? We make the politcians feel very important
With support ,I volunteer to start the political fast on Monday 18th April 2011 and open the fast on 26th april 2011.
Interesting. We vote them in, then we black them out. Our leaders tell us who we are.

@newfarer, sorry to disappoint but wazuashada went the way of mashada a long time ago. It is impossible to do this and this very post proves it. it is a political post in every sense of the word.
unless of course you think that just because a post doesn't talk about raila or ruto it is not political.
So smell the coffee and realise that the only reason most people are on this forum is because of all the political noise that is evident recently. That is why the admnis will never ban any sort of such threads. Ngoja Monday asubuhi after the homecomings.

@NF, rasilio, et al, wazua is yet to get to the level of mashada. I visited once and didnt like what i saw. I will not participate in a siasa fast. No one has made a good case for such fast. Infact, in that 1 week, i will be more active!

Sex, religion, politics, beer, money are subjects that evoke strong passions and must crop up in any normal discussion. Because the 2012 polls are around the corner, very few of Kenya's major blogs will escape the inevitable plunge. Wazua is one of the most sober Kenyan blogs out there in its political discussions. I condemn insults and have seen few such cases. The admin has hidden this section meaning coming to this section is doing so on purpose. We bleed 30% per month to pay their 1 million plus monthly salaries. Dont see why we cannot publicly scrutinize them. All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.
