@mizznai - It's ok,i've accessed the site..bit pricey though, but if they're good I can link up with my neighbours and then subscribe. @Djinn - B4 I sign up,I would greatly appreciate your sound advice on which ISP to contract for Internet home usage. Thanks in advance Things may come to those who wait, but only what’s left behind by those that hustle.

@rock - I think its a toss between Zain and Orange - good thing with either is that you are assured of both coverage and quality. You will hear people sing Safcom 3G praises while in the CBD - but travel with your laptop at least 18k from the CBD and you drop back onto GPRS which means you have a 3G modem doing 2G and therefore not worth it.
The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less

@Djinn - Thanks,I agree with you coz I'm on Safcom and for that price its really not worth it and I need to change...I will convince my neighbour to take either of the two and I the other, then compare and thereafter decide which is the best option. KulaRaha,Do you have a landline? If you do then you just need to purchase the livebox @ sh 3990 - if you don't have a landline then the connection fee is sh 3395..plus they have both postpaid and prepaid services but for postpaid you will leave a one months deposit depending on the package you've chosen. 256kbps - sh2999 p.m 512kbps - sh4999 p.m 1mb - sh6999 p.m I opted for 256kbps coz I'm not a heavy user and it's also cheaper. For more info you can go to their website - orange.co.ke Things may come to those who wait, but only what’s left behind by those that hustle.

I remember enquiring about the livebox option and got a reply that some exchanges don't support the service and need upgrading. Also be careful if you live in an area where theres frequent theft of the copper wires, though that should soon be a thing of the past with fibre

I have been using orange 3G and I can say the speeds are super. Pricing (1/= per MB)still has to go down.

OK I got Tangerine at home, works well, tried speedtest but they never actually get to the 256k they promise, usually hovering around 200 to 230k. However, I feel silly now, given Zuku is at 1500/= for the same line. Business opportunities are like buses, there's always another one coming

@Kularaha, apart from speedtest, how does stuff like youtube and the like work on tangerine? I find sometimes speedtest does not give the real picture of what you should be experiences. Form is temporary, class is permanent

Anasazi, I have a 256k line from tangerine. Youtube takes time to buffer, does not play seamlessly. I listen to internet radio on my ipod using wunder radio, that is amazingly clear and smooth, like listening to live radio. Surfing, emailing, googling, and facebooking all ok. Havent tried downloading anything heavy yet, let me try a full album (around 60mb+) and will let you know. All in all a good experience, but when I'm paying 4500/= for that while Zuku custoemrs pay 1500/=, I will be dumping them very very soon. My only regret is paying the installation fee, which was 7000/= plus vat. Business opportunities are like buses, there's always another one coming

Hmmm.. At home I'm on SOVAYA. 3,500 per month. Shared bandwidth...Doesnt do too badly. Has its ups and downs. Though I'm moving house next year and so may be in the market for something new. Let's see how ZUKU goes Form is temporary, class is permanent
