exactly made you
almost go blind? Let's have the numbers, else we may surmise that you might be exaggerating!
NMG has
history of fairly steady but NOT spectacular profit growth. In the last 5 years, it
only blew the lights out in 2006 with a 140% growth with
most other years experiencing less than 30% growth in profits. Their rival Standard Newspapers Group only managed a PALTRY 3.39% growth in 2010 PAT attributabe to shareholders after having reported over 100% growth in the first half. Admittedly, NMG cannot exactly be likened to SNG, but they are in the same industry.
NOTE:
H1 2010 PAT for NMG grew by 44.44%, with an EPS of 3.55. Given that
NMG makes about 2/3rd of its profits in the 2nd Half,
I would expect Full Year EPS to be in the range of 10.5 with a maximum of about Kshs 12. I would certainly
NOT go blind with such an outturn. But perhaps you can disclose and make us
"see".
