Why not tell your missus you dont know the basis of spending thousands on a 'celebration' you know nothing about, other than ruining your car?

At times saying a firm 'NO' saves you alot !

treat your lady nicely every now and then during the year...in fact always.. that way she will not notice it if you don't spend 10K..goodness..10k!! on valentines.

Valetine never bothers me. We agreed that there is no need to fake our love.

Valentine day means nothing to me and her. She knows that I love her because of what I do on a daily basis.

We agreed that our love will never be expressed as a ritual, just because others are doing it.

We do not celebrate and I am sure our love life is better than most who celebrate it.

First off all, any chic who insists on flowers for valentines is vain and should be ashamed?Do flowers make you lose weight or make you more beautiful?It's just a way of showing off to others that there's someone out there foolish enough to buy you something that rots the following day!Thank God missus can't stand them!

What's wrong with a nice romantic dinner and a gift that the person will be seeing every day?Someone asked whether 10k is too much for dinner!If you're the average guy earning maybe 50k-100k net, why would you want to spend 10k on dinner yet gisty places like Palacina can only put you aside around 4-5k, that's the most expensive 3 course dinner for 1,500/- plus a drink per person?Just visit eatout.com or somesuch and you get all the places in Nairobi that you can have extremely good meals.

Guys, c'mon. Valentines is a day imposed on us like someone up there said...chics stop making guys feel guilty about these things

@Mc Rege, ask them.

An average single course dinner in a chinese restaurant in downtown Loita street plus two glasses of fine wine with a rare Italian dessert will set you back 7K;If u consider exclusive hideouts like Le Bistrot in Karen then 10K will be basic single course.

For a conventional 3-course dinner, you will have to spend,good money.
