This MF Global saga is going to expose more financial markets rehypothecation scams as more clients (traders/investors) funds get commingled in more brokers or IBs going bust in 2012... Be careful if you trade ETFs.

KE inflation rate is above the 9% CBK target. Remember this has been revised upwards from 5%. I'm more skeptical of KES than inflation. That KES will slip and give back all those fake gains if CBK removes the forex control. You can control Mr Market for a short span, but eventually the market reads its direction tape. I'm glad the fraud in the fudged inflation models of KE & UG are coming to light thus kicking about their ccys. This will force the implementation of proper fiscal policies under social pressure. Freedom doesn't come cheap...

Jan 3rd - thin trading day, but oil moves are looking to breakout. Expensive oil is still on the horizon. The Iranian tensions are not helping and the sanctions imposed on them are making it worse. Cant the west see that oil spiking will have serious effects on their recessing economies???

Nigerians protest at removal of fuel subsidy

Hundreds of Nigerians are marching in the commercial capital, Lagos, to protest at the removal of a fuel subsidy, which has led petrol prices and transport fares to double.
