A look at Berkshire’s Q1 2013 balance sheet shows QoQ equity allocation increased vs cash. This means they increased their equity exposure in Q1 2013 than in Q4 2012. $15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

I continue to remain long USDZAR until the SA econ shows signs of recovery. Meanwhile JSE is at all time highs. This divergence, weak rand, weak econ and bullish JSE is going to converge and JSE will take it in the chin just like that rand.$15/barrel oil... Quote:PRETORIA—Grim economic figures released Tuesday sent South Africa's rand to fresh four-year lows, as officials searched for ways to boost the continent's biggest economy.
The rand fell to 9.80 to the U.S. dollar, its weakest position since March 2009, after South Africa's statistics agency said a marginal recovery at South Africa's strike-hit mines wasn't enough to offset a steep drop in manufacturing activity in the first quarter.
South Africa's economy expanded only 1.9% annually in the first three months of this year, the agency said, falling short of the 2.2% growth that many economists had forecast, according to Absa Capital, a South African subsidiary of Barclays PLC. NEW YORK (AP) — Calling it perhaps the biggest money laundering scheme in U.S. history, federal prosecutors charged seven people Tuesday with running what amounted to an online, underworld bank that handled $6 billion for drug dealers, child pornographers, identity thieves and other criminals around the globe. The case was aimed at Liberty Reserve, a currency transfer and payment processing company based in Costa Rica that authorities say allowed customers to move money anonymously from one account to another via the Internet with almost no questions asked. U.S. officials said the enterprise was staggering in scope: Over roughly seven years, Liberty Reserve processed 55 million illicit transactions worldwide for 1 million users, including 200,000 in the U.S. The network "became the bank of choice for the criminal underworld," http://newsok.com/7-char.../546661?custom_click=rss"There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. What a joke by the regulators...
It is in public domain that the likes of Stanchart PLC, HSBC etc have already been fined record amounts recently for participating in money laundering activities, drug money etc. Why are these banks still in operation yet Liberty Reserve has been shutdown? $15/barrel oil... "There are many wealthy sovereign funds in Africa and among our members, so we will try to negotiate some interesting loans" he said.
The bank would get funds from Libya, which will become an active member, Algeria, Equatorial Guinea and Botswana. There we go, that sovereign funds keyword... $15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!
