I do not know where you work but in most big companies successors are already known months to taking up positions. Bob was to leave in Aug. The board must have told that someone that he was to replace Bob by last month. MJ will be on up untill the start date of the new person. Aug most likely.

There is a tussle between gok and Vodafone on the successor.Vodafone have insisted a Kenyan is not fit.
Otherwise if it was like you have said Bob was to leave latest March this year.
August is just next let's watch.
